ISLAND PARK’S BEST Nordic ski TRAILS
Ranch Loop in Harriman State Park
Easy 1.7-mile loop trail. Great for beginners as it is relatively flat. Map
Harriman Hounds in Harriman State Park
Easy 6.1-mile loop trail which takes about 2 hours to complete. Dogs are welcome on this trail. Map
Moose Snow Loop in Caribou-Targhee National Forest
Easy 2.9 mile loop trail. Approximately 1 hour to complete. Map
Meadow & Thurman creek loop in Harriman State Park
Moderate 4.7 mile loop. Plan on 1.5 hours to complete. Map
If you use these trails, please remember not to walk over groomed ski tracks. Unfortunately, snowshoes can cause indents on these groomed areas, thus resulting in safety issues and making the route unusable for skiers.
West Yellowstone
Rendezvous Ski Trail
More than 35 kilometers of gently rolling, well-groomed trails for classic and skate skiing that is great for skiers of all abilities. Stunning scenery with lodgepole pine forests and sprawling open meadows.
Beginners will find a flat, two-kilometer loop.
Boundary ski trail
7.9 km dog-friendly, groomed trail. The trail borders Yellowstone National Park. It’s not uncommon to see elk, bison and deer frequently are found in the area. Map
Riverside Trail
Easily accessible off West Yellowstone’s Boundary Street. The trail follows the Madison River into Yellowstone National Park. A favorite trail of wildlife watchers for bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and bison. Map
